Mina Rashid, formerly known as Port Rashid, is a landmark waterfront redevelopment that transforms one of Dubai’s historic maritime gateways into a contemporary coastal destination.
GLSW was appointed to deliver the full wayfinding masterplan and signature gateway elements for this expansive district, ensuring the navigation experience reflects both the site’s heritage and its new, design-forward identity. The approach draws from the clean architectural lines, marine influences, and bright coastal palette that define the development. Sculptural vertical fins, refined metal detailing, and minimal forms create a visual language that feels both modern and anchored in the port’s industrial past.
The system supports intuitive circulation across promenades, marina zones, residential areas, and primary arrival routes, with clear orientation maintained at key decision points. Materials were engineered for durability within a saline, high-sun environment while preserving a crisp, elegant aesthetic. The strategy enhances the district’s arrival and reinforces Mina Rashid’s shift from a commercial port to a vibrant, community-focused waterfront.
